Does my CPU Support DDR5?

You will also need a new CPU. The new Intel 12th generation processor will support the DDR5 memory.


Can I mix DDR5 RAM with different specs?

You cannot mix RAM with a range of specs, as this can lead to an array of problems. For example, if you have two different speeds, your motherboard will automatically underclock the faster one so you may not get the performance you want.

Even if you can’t always see the problems that arise from mixing memory specs, it's always best to use identical specs to get the most out of your components.

Can I mix DDR5 RAM with different brands?

You can mix brands as long as they have the exact same specs, however, it is generally not recommended to do so and we would recommend sticking to identical sticks of memory to ensure that you are getting optimal results from your components.
