How to Play the PS5 on your iPhone or iPad
Being able to play your PS5 remotely is a real joy. No longer do you have to switch off an immersive gaming session when eating lunch in the kitchen, queuing when out and about is now entertaining and going to visit friends is even more fun as you can play the latest titles via your iPhone or iPad. If you are looking for how to connect an Android smartphone, we recommend checking out our ‘How to play PS5 on your phone when not at home’ blog post on this.
The doors that are opened by being able to play your PlayStation console wherever you go are pretty exciting, that’s why in this Blog we have written a step-by-step guide on how to play your PS5 on your iPhone or iPad.
What you need:
Other than of course, a PS5 console and Apple device, you will need a Strong WiFi connection, you will also need a Playstation network account.
Steps to play your PS5 through an iPhone or iPad:
1) Switch on your PlayStation and go into Settings > System> Remote play> then switch to Enable remote play.
2) To ensure you can remote play whilst the PS5 is in rest mode, go to Settings > System > Power Saving > Featured Available in Rest Mode > Check the boxes 'Stay Connected to the Internet' and 'Enable Turning on PS5 from Network'.
3) Before leaving, ensure you have put your PlayStation into rest mode (it cannot be switched off), so it can automatically switch on when you connect via remote play.
4) Download the PlayStation remote play app to your Apple device and sign in with the same account that is on the Playstation console.
5) Open the app and select the ‘PS5’ option when it asks which device you want to connect.
6) This should be connected and ready to go now, so you can enjoy playing your console via your iPhone or iPad
How to connect a PS5 controller to your iPhone or iPad
Whilst you can operate and play on your PS5 via the iPhone or iPad screen, let’s be honest it’s not the most ideal way to be gaming. This is why we love the fact that the DualSense controller can actually be connected to your Apple device, and this is how:
1) Press and hold the share button and PS button on your controller until the light around the touchpad starts flashing - indicating it is in pairing mode.
2) Go into your Bluetooth settings on your iPhone or iPad and click on the DualSense controller to pair.
3) Enjoy playing your PS5 on your Apple device with a controller!
We hope you have found this blog helpful, and you enjoy playing your PS5 remotely. Whilst this is an awesome way to bust boredom and stay entertained when on the go, it is worth bearing in mind that remote play can sometimes have a slight lag, so may not be best for intense and competitive games.
