Last night, Apple’s event revealed some exciting new products which offer both small and huge improvements for the latest generation of tech.

In this event, we learned more about what we can expect from the new iPhone 13 family, as well as the new iPad and iPad mini and the Apple watch series 7. We also learned more about the brand new features coming to Apple Fitness+ as well as some information on IOS 15.

Although it was rumoured that there might be a reveal of new AirPods, there was no mention of this at last nights event.

In this blog, we will share all you need to know about the latest Apple news from the event, broken down by product range. So you can be fully updated on the just-know information when it comes to this highly anticipated reveal.

What to expect from the iPhone 13 family

Apple has revealed that there will be four siblings in the iPhone 13 family. These are the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 pro and iPhone 13 pro max - a team that makes up their most powerful handsets to date.

How much will the iPhone 13 cost?

The sizing of the products is set to follow that of traditional standards, with the iPhone 13 mini being the smallest handset, with a price of around $699, the iPhone 13 being around the size of the iPhone 12 with a price tag of around $799, then the iPhone 13 Pro ($999) and Pro Max ($1099) are set to be similar sizes as last years Pro and Max iPhones.

What will the iPhone 13 look like?

Whilst the iPhone 13 looks a bit like the iPhone 12, we see a 20% smaller notch - courtesy of re-engineered sensors - that allows for more uninterrupted screen space. Plus, the back looks slightly different as we see diagonally placed cameras.

The iPhone 13 Pros on the other hand have been given a considerable design upgrade. As the most premium iPhone designs to date, they feature improved water resistance and surgical grade steel bands.

What is the battery like on iPhone 13?

The iPhone 13 Mini is said to provide 1.5 hours longer battery life than its predecessor, whilst the iPhone 13 can give an impressive 2.5 hours - making them the longest-lasting batteries ever in an iPhone. This is not only thanks to a bigger battery but also an improved processor.

What other features can I expect from the iPhone 13 range?

The iPhone 13 range features the ‘fastest CPU in any smartphone by up to 50%’ with the A15 Bionic chip. In the iPhone 13, we see a 6 core CPU and 4 core GPU which enables 30% faster graphics than leading competitors, whilst in the Pro range, we see a 6 core CPU and a 5 core GPU for 50% faster graphics than leading competitors.

Both ranges are of course 5G enabled and have more antennal bands than the iPhone 12, meaning it can work faster and more reliably.

An Improved OLED display on the Pro supports up to 1000 nits brightness, and it supports the brilliant Pro Motion feature. This is the first time we have seen this awesome feature on an iPhone, which dynamically adjusts the frame rate on the device from speeds of up to 10Hz all the way to 120Hz. This means when scrolling and gaming you can enjoy great responsiveness whilst the battery is conserved when this is not needed.

How much storage is on the iPhone 13?

The onboard storage will start at a generous 128GB and go up to 512GB for the iPhone 13, and up to a whopping 1TB on the Pro, which is the largest we have ever seen in an iPhone.

What are the cameras like on the iPhone 13 Range?

The iPhone 13 range has an improved low light camera, which is perfect for snapping at night as it can gather 47% more light thanks to the biggest sensor they have ever put in a dual-camera system.

The Pro phones also have sensor-shift optical image stabilization which is carried over from the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Video fanatics will love the ‘cinematic mode’ which dynamically changes the focus in a way that replicates Hollywood films.

The iPhone Pro range will feature 3 camera lenses with upgraded features such as a long telephoto lens which can give significantly improved zoom capabilities (it can now zoom X3 rather than X2 in the previous iPhones), as well as macro pictures thanks to the ultrawide lens.

What to expect from the new iPad and iPad mini

Apple has revealed a serious upgrade on their entry-level iPad range with the new iPad and iPad Mini, we also love that both models have 100% recycled aluminium enclosures.

Design-wise, the iPad looks pretty similar to how it has before, with touch ID on the button right underneath the screen.

How big is the iPad Mini screen?

On the other hand, the iPad mini offers a slight difference with touch ID being on the power button, which is due to the huge reduction in bezel size to offer significantly more screen space at 8.3 inches.

Processors and Graphics cards on the new iPads

Inside we see the A13 processor which can improve speed by up to 20% on the iPad. Whilst on the iPad mini we can see an impressive 40% increase in CPU performance as well as an 80% leap in GPU performance.

We also see the reveal of 5G connectivity on the iPad mini, as well as USB-C ports for up to 10X improvement in data transfer speed and easy compatibility with other devices.

Cameras on the latest iPads

The rear camera on the iPad and iPad mini offer improvement in low-light situations, whilst the front and rear 12MP cameras offer features such as centre stage. Centre stage follows the person on-screen, making it perfect for facetiming family or remote learning.

How much will the iPad Mini cost?

In terms of pricing, the iPad Mini range starts at an affordable £479 and going up to £759, and is likely to be less for schools.

What to expect from the Apple Watch Series 7

The Apple Watch Series 7 does not fail to impress, as it combines both internal upgrades with a redesign, using 100% recycled metal for the casing and ensuring style and quality isn’t compromised.

How big is the Apple Watch Series 7 Screen?

We have a bigger screen on this smartwatch, thanks to 40% thinner borders, this makes space for the keyboard to be on screen for the very first time (something that many of us have been wishing was there for a while). Not only is the display bigger, on both the 41mm and 45mm watches, it’s also better as it offers up to 70% increase in brightness which makes it easier to use indoors. The shapes and sizes of buttons have also been redesigned to complement this.

What is Apple's 'Time to walk' and 'Artist Spotlight?

‘Time to walk’ helps to encourage you to spend some time outside as you are virtually accompanied by a celebrity who guides you through a walk whilst sharing stories. These include celebrities such as Camilla Cabello, Anthony Joshua and Naomi Campbell.

What to expect from the Lastest IOS update

There was a brief mention of the next big IOS update, IOS 15, which was sent to the press after the event. This is set to air on the 10th of September and is set to include features such as Shareplay which allows people to watch movies, listen to music or work out together via facetime, as well as focus mode which gives you greater control over the notifications that come through to you. There is also said to be updated to messages, maps and safari too.
