We've been testing out the iiyama G-master Red Eagle G2770HSU-B1 and at just £219.99, we think it's an awesome budget-friendly gaming monitor! For a full unboxing and set-up take a look at our video below.

Set Up and design

This monitor was super simple to set up, with just 2 parts to screw into place, then you're up and ready to start gaming.

This iiyama G-Master Red Eagle monitor has a stunning and minimalistic design with thin bezels, perfect for whatever you use your PC set-up for, whether it's gaming, content creating or just working from home in your home office. With its thin stand, this monitor won't take up to much space on your desk either, making this a great choice if you have limited space.

Unfortunately, this monitor doesn't allow for any tilting or height adjustments, but if you want to save more space and adjust the height using a mount to remove the stand from your desk, this can be easily achieved with the iiyama G2770HSU-B1 as it is 100mm VESA mountable.

In terms of ports we have a HDMI, display port, headphone jack and usb port all of which are located on the back of the monitor.

to get you set up even quicker, this monitor comes with 2 x 2W built-in speakers, which means you won't need any external speakers to start gaming or watching your favourite shows!

Display Features

The 27’’ display gives a good amount of screen space, the full HD IPS panel is great for gaming, with sharp visuals and bold, bright colours, which we tested on a range of content from nature shows to animations and games.

The colours on this monitor are accurate, and stay consistent when viewing from a range of angles, with barely any colour distortion. If you want to play around with the display, including brightness settings and gaming modes, there is a range of buttons that you can find on the back of the monitor to adjust your settings.

This iiyama monitor also has a range of blue light settings which can help to reduce eye strain, perfect for long hours of working or gaming.

Gaming Features

So how good is this monitor for gaming? The G2770HSU-B1 gave an incredibly smooth, sharp and fluid gaming experience thanks to its 165hz refresh rate and 0.8ms response time, these gaming specs are very impressive at a monitor this price. These features made gaming super immersive and gave a competitive advantage in games such as FPS as they allow for more precision and accuracy.

Additional gaming features on this monitor include AMD FreeSync premium and low latency, these made the overall gaming experience much more captivating as there wasn’t any lag, stutter or tearing.

By adjusting the setting with the buttons on the back of the monitor, you can find pre-set gaming modes that are optimised for a range of games such as fps and racing. If these don’t suit you, you can also save your own custom settings to go back to whenever you need!

Another amazing display feature for gaming on this monitor was the black tuner, this helps to reveal the details in the shadows without overexposing the screen.
