Hi Marta! Tell us three fun facts about yourself.
- I talk with my hands. A lot.
- I always move my controller around when playing games thinking it will help, even when they're not motion controllers.
- I like telling people I'm vegan. How else will they know if I don't? ;)
When did your streaming journey begin, and what inspired you to start?
I first experienced streaming through work, first streaming on the SEGA channel with my colleagues. After a while, most of my friends suggested I should start my own channel and they inspired me to do so. Just under a year ago, I started my channel and streamed Yakuza 0 on Twitch. I loved the game and the streaming experience so much that I kept going! And I have no intention of stopping anytime soon.
What's your favourite game/content to stream/share? What do you enjoy most about it?
To be very honest, my favourite thing is hanging out with everyone that stops by my streams. I love playing a variety of games, but the Yakuza franchise, as well as retro games, have a very special place in my heart. I intend to continue my streaming journey playing games but chatting to everyone that stops by and says hello is what makes it all worth it. I will always stop whatever I’m doing to welcome in someone new or say hello to a familiar name. There is nothing quite like sharing the love you have in common with others for the things you enjoy!Do you feel like there is a stigma for women streamers in the industry?
There is definitely a stigma. Female streamers can sometimes be pushed aside for not being as good as male streamers, particularly in gaming. Or even that our streaming success is attributed to simply being female and not to our work. However, I do believe things are changing and there are many wonderful female streamers fighting against it, by simply being their awesome selves, having fun playing video games and doing a wonderful job streaming/creating content! What’s one piece of advice you’d give to women who want to begin streaming?
The same advice I would give anyone else: Not everyone will like you, and that’s ok. Just get started, have fun and don’t be scared of being unapologetically yourself!Where can people find you online?
People can find me mainly on Twitch @ThisIsMarta and Twitter @Myunie.https://www.twitch.tv/thisismartaaa
