Hi Aravelle! Tell us three fun facts about yourself.

  1. I'm a self-published author and have written 2 books.
  2. I never wear matching socks.
  3. I'm OBSESSED with Jurassic Park.

When did your streaming journey begin, and what inspired to start?

I started streaming back in 2015 after attempting to make Youtube content first (editing is not my strong point). I was massively inspired by the Yogscast and how fun they made content creation look. When my Twitter followers suggested I stream I tried it and fell in love with that real time connection with the people watching.

What's your favourite game/content to stream/share? What do you enjoy most about it?

I love showcasing smaller indie titles that people might not have heard of. Point and click puzzle/adventure games are my favourite. They're a great way to get chat involved and help with solving the puzzles and it feels like a real team effort.

Do you feel like there is a stigma for women streamers in the industry?

Absolutely! Unfortunately there's still a lot of assumptions and prejudice towards women in the industry and every day I see evidence of this by the way myself and other women in content creation are treated. The strange belief that women "have it easier" baffles me as all of the top creators on Twitch are men. It's a shame that the love of gaming can't be more important than the gender of the creators involved.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to women who want to begin streaming?

Do it! Don't let the horror stories and the fear of trolls hold you back. Theres way more nice people than bad. Streaming is so much fun, its meant to be fun and play what you want, wear what you want and present yourself how you want. It's your stream and if you have to enjoy yourself and be comfortable first and foremost.
