Box staff get waxed for Comic Relief


Four Box staff suffered for charity as they had their bushy legs waxed to raise hundreds of pounds.

The brave quartet faced the waxing strip in aid of Comic Relief after being nominated by their colleagues.

Box staff had the opportunity to nominate a manager for the painful procedure at the cost of £1 per vote.

The four who received the most votes were: Rob Sutherland (finance director), Will Spencer (retail director), Mark Jordan (managing director) and Rob Woolley (commercial director).

More than £600 was raised in total, which included cash brought in from a cake sale.

Rob Woolley said: “I simply could not believe that I got more than 400 votes to have my leg waxed! I thought my colleagues were my friends, but they really stitched me up on this one.

“It was a very painful experience. It’s safe to say I won’t be getting it done again in a hurry.

“It was fantastic to raise so much money for Comic Relief though – and I think we gave the staff a good laugh, too.”
